To celebrate Book Week, Plumpton Marketplace will be hosting a series of free* events including face painting and storytime sessions throughout the week. Visit Plumpton Marketplace dressed in your favourite book character costume and get ready for an inspiring week of wonder!
Wednesday 21 August
Our reading corner will be open for parents and children to take a break, read a book together from our selection of great books, snap a selfie at our Book Week wall and colour in and keep your very own book mark. Once your finished personalising your craft, we will have it laminated for you to take home.
Thursday 22 August
Storytime, games and craft sessions at:
10.30am to 11.00am
11.30am to 12.00pm
The site will remain open after our sessions for free craft, reading and photo moments.
Friday 23 August
10.30am to 11.00am - Special appearance from reading star, Rooby Roo with a free* book for the first 70 children in attendance.
11.00am to 1.00pm - storytime and face painting* with Beauty and the Beast's own Belle!

Don't have a Book Week costume? Big W and Dollar Avenue have a large range of costumes, accessories and DIY items so you can make this the best Book Week ever!
Donate your pre-loved books
We are proudly accepting donations of your pre-loved books for our wonderful community partners, the Blacktown Area Community Centres, to utilse in their Early Literacy Program. Together we can help ensure children have access to books so they can read everyday.
We hope to see you there! Look out for our donation box near the Book Week set.
*Terms and conditions apply. Complimentary face painting available on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants will receive a free book on the day of the event while stocks last. Limit of 1 book per person per day.
